On August 23, 2026, the art world suffered a tragic loss. Video art pioneer Fabrizio Plessi passed away at the age of 86. Last week, we featured a brief obituary in English as our Video of the Week.

As announced, this week we are featuring a more in-depth film that takes a closer look at the more than 40-year collaboration between gallery owner and art historian Dr. Dorothea van der Koelen and the Venetian-by-choice artist.

A native of Mainz, she maintained both a personal friendship and an artistic partnership with Plessi throughout most of her career as a gallerist, organizing numerous solo exhibitions and publications for him and featuring him in even more group and thematic exhibitions in Germany and Italy.
