Art student Lore Bert
The Mainz paper artist Lore Bert is known to art connoisseurs and friends of Galerie Dr. Dorothea van der Koelen alike. The now 86-year-old is still extremely creative and always creates new and inspiring works in her studio – which she visits for six hours every day.
As early as 2020, she decided to take part in an artist talk with curator and gallerist Dr Dorothea van der Koelen on the occasion of the gallery's summer festival – which takes place annually at the Cadoro – Centre for Art and Science. The audience present was included in the dialogue. For all friends of delicate paper art, this was a unique opportunity to meet Lore Bert in person and to ask her their own questions.
In the approximately 40-minute conversation, expertly and at times humorously moderated by Dr. Dorothea van der Koelen, Lore Bert took the opportunity to present her views on a wide variety of art-related topics. In 2020, we initially decided not to publish the video due to the sound quality. In the meantime, we have done some reworking in this regard and now want to make this gem available to you retrospectively. Enjoy watching.
