My gallery is celebrating its 45th birthday this year – after all, La Galleria Venezia has been around for 23 years. And I thought long and hard about what the theme of this year’s exhibition could be. And when I looked at the horrors of our world – the wars, hunger, climate change, the energy crisis – I thought: we have to create a counter-model with art. We have to use art to create a forum, a level on which we can be happy despite all this adversity. And what can offer us this forum? The answer is: Beauty.

So I named the exhibition Visions of Beauty. Because I want to take you all with me into a world that is not characterized by these horrors. A world that has nothing destructive about it. That offers no sex, no crime. But one that takes you – seduces you even – into a world full of beauty, full of peace, full of freedom of thought – because our art allows everything. You don’t have to think what we tell you to think – we can only invite you to take a walk with our thoughts and your thoughts in this art.

Last Friday, we celebrated the opening of Visions of Beauty at the same time as the start of the art biennial. The vernissage was a great success. Art lovers from all over the world flocked to the lagoon city to revel in the beauty that is our new exhibition.

Visions of Beauty can be seen throughout the summer in the picturesque La Galleria Venezia. We hope to be able to welcome you to our premises in the lagoon city soon and guide you through the exhibition.
