17 April 2024Visions of Beauty · 2024
In parallel to the Bienniale in Venice this year, La Galleria Dorothea van der Koelen presents its new exhibition entitled Visions of Beauty. During the preview days on April 17th and 18th, we welcome you to a happy hour drink from 5 to 7 p.m. On Friday, April 19th 6 p.m., the vernissage will take place.
The exhibition in occasion of the 45th gallery anniversary is a statement against the horrors of this world, a counter-project against the current wars as well as against the natural disasters. Beauty can lead to the peaceful coexistence. So Dr. Dorothea van der Koelen asked her artists to make a call for beauty, and created the upcoming exhibition from their responses.
From Daniel Buren, the important glass work connected with the show in Guggenheim Museum in New York will be seen.
Lore Bert presents some of her newest creations with her beloved Japanese paper and delicate gold leaf.
Emirati Star Mohammed Kazem contributes his Collecting Waves works, which he specifically created for the Gallery.
From Joseph Kosuth, we are proud to present a philosophical masterpiece engaging with Wittgensteins late work.
The Korean Dansaekhwa artist Nam Tchun-Mo has provided us with a diverse selection of works, showcasing typical beam and spring pieces.
