Experiments V · 4+8 – Traces Rebekka Kronsteiner
17 August 2023Experiments V · 4+8: Rebekka Kronsteiner
Rebekka Kronsteiner (*1996) is an artist who studied painting as a master student with Prof. Stephan Baumkötter at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen until March 2023. Kronsteiner's work is characterized by the variety of materials used, such as latex, lacquers, paraffine wax and sheeting. The materials, most of which are industrial, relate to the urban environment that surrounds the artist or are borrowed from public space. The diverse materials attract Kronsteiner's attention because of their ever-changing form and their ephemeral nature. With the reuse of the materials, and a constantly ongoing learning process associated with it, the artist creates a counter-design to the waste of resources that occasionally happens in contemporary art (e.g. Julian Charrière, The Other Side of Eden, 2018).
